Biography

Dr. Yograj Raghunauth (Raj) is an accomplished aviation professional, educator, and leader with extensive experience spanning aviation operations, maintenance, flight training, and higher education. He currently serves as Chair and Chief Flight Instructor for the Department of Aviation & Safety, where he provides strategic leadership in academic program development, curriculum innovation, accreditation initiatives, and student success.

Dr. Raghunauth brings a diverse background as a Commercial Pilot with Instrument Rating, Certified Flight Instructor, Advanced and Instrument Ground Instructor, and Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic with Inspection Authorization. His professional expertise encompasses flight operations, aviation safety, maintenance management, aviation leadership, Advance Air Mobility (AAM) and workforce development.

He holds a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) with a specialization in Leadership and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). Dr. Raghunauth is committed to advancing aviation education through innovative instructional strategies, technology integration, and industry partnerships. His work emphasizes preparing students for successful careers while maintaining the highest standards of safety and academic excellence.

Professional Activities

Dr. Raghunauth actively engages in professional activities that support the advancement of aviation education, leadership, and industry collaboration. He maintains memberships in several professional organizations, including the National Association of Flight Instructors (NAFI), Society of Aviation and Flight Educators (SAFE), Project Management Institute (PMI), National Business Aviation Association (NBAA), Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), Greater Miami Aviation Association (GMAA), Aviation Technician Education Council (ATEC) and the FAA FAST Safety Team Program. He regularly participates in aviation conferences, safety initiatives, faculty development programs, and industry networking events to remain current with emerging trends and best practices in aerospace and aviation. His professional involvement also includes curriculum development, mentorship, accreditation activities, and fostering partnerships between academia and industry to enhance student learning and workforce readiness.
